THE QUEEN OF TREES wins America's most prestigious broadcast award..
'THE QUEEN OF TREES' was awarded a PEABODY, the highest accolade in American broadcasting in a ceremony broadcast live by satellite from the Peabody Gallery, University of Georgia on 5th April
An excerpt from their press release:
"Impeccable, creative cinematography aside, the wondrous thing about this study of a single sycamore fig, Africa's queen tree, is that it's a microcosm of the eco-complexity of the Earth at large."
The film was among 30 PEABODY award winners, from over 1000 entries. It was the only wildlife film to be chosen in this annual prestigious event that spans all the electronic broadcast media.
It is the couple's second PEABODY after MZIMA: HAUNT of the RIVERHORSE received the award in 2001.
